The three-day conference is a virtual event bringing together Ohio's prevention community for learning, dialogue, and networking. This year's content will focus on building the capacity of prevention professionals to affect individuals, families, organizations, communities, and systems.

"Our work is ultimately about creating conditions and providing tools that influence healthy behaviors," noted Rachel Miller, co-chair of the OPPA Education & Training Team. "The conference will further equip all of us to apply those skills, whether we're teaching a curriculum, coordinating a coalition, or affecting state policy."

Conference registration is $75.00 for OPPA members and $175 for non-members. Non-members receive an OPPA 2022 membership with their registration.

Nicole M. Augustine, Gavin Luther, and Simone Crawley are the conference keynote presenters.

Augustine has worked in the prevention field for over 20 years. Among her many roles, she is the prevention director of Addiction Professionals of North Carolina and the owner of RIZE Consultants, through which she consults with organizations and businesses on improving systems to create change. Augustine was previously the project director for the Southeast Prevention Technology Transfer Center (PTTC).

Luter is the director of UniverCity Alliance, an organization that connects education, service, and research activities at the University of Wisconsin to local communities. He previously served as executive director of Wisconsin Campus Compact, which also focused on community and systems development.

Crawley is a cross-cultural expert with a diverse career history that includes serving over six years in the Ohio Legislature, once holding the office of President of the Ohio Young Black Democrats, and previously leading Ohio’s leading agency for cultural competence, the Multiethnic Advocates for Cultural Competence (MACC), as Executive Director.
